CONCORD, N.C. - Carl Edwards snapped a 31-race winless streak with a win in Charlotte in the Coca-Cola 600.

The victory gives Edwards a spot in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and was his first win since joining the Joe Gibbs Racing team.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The William Woods University men's golf team finished a program best second-place in the NAIA National Championship.

The Owls shot a 4-over-par 1156, just 11 shots behind the tournament champions Coastal Georgia. Sophomore David Houlding placed second individually with an 8-under-par 280.

Both Houlding and sophomore David Wells were named to the All-Tournament team after finishing in the top-15.
