||Loafer's Week started fifty-eight years ago this February and on the week of George Washinton's birthday has folks looking forward to this time of year to visit and find out what their relatives, friends and neighbors have been doing all year. The shelling of peanuts and throwing the shells on the floor, card playing, free coffee, and gathering for meals make a great week. A noon meal will be served each day by a different organization. Serving time will begin at 11 AM. Monday the Show Me A Cure-Fulton Relay for life will be serving Pulled Pork $6.00, Tuesday the Callaway Bank will be serving Fried Chicken $10.00, Wednesday the North Callaway Senior will be serving Chili $6.00, Thursday the Show Me A Cure-Fulton Relay for life will be serving Turkey and Dressing $10.00, Friday the Sons of Confederate Veterans and United Daughters of the Confederacy will be serving Ham and Beans $7.00, and Saturday will bring the week to a close with the Auxvasse Lions Club holding their "All you can Eat Pancakes" $7.00 beginning at 8 AM going through the noon meal. Everyone attending can sign a meal ticket each day for two $25.00 cash gifts donated by the United Security Bank ans Car wash tokens donated by Pit Stop Car Wash in Auxvasse. The Auxvasse Community Hall Association is also having a 50/50 raffle. You do not have to be present to win. Come and enjoy yourself and loaf in Auxvasse.
