The Mid-Missouri heat is hard to beat, especially for those without air conditioning. The heat is especially hard on the elderly, pregnant women and young children. Lend a hand in cooling your community! Join KOMU 8’s Fan Club and help those less fortunate beat the heat this summer by donating a new or gently used fan at any of these locations: Lowes 3441 Missouri Blvd. Westlake’s Hardware Pickup and distribution of the fans will be handled by the Voluntary Action Center www.vacmo.org/ in Columbia, the United Way of Central Missouri www.unitedwaycemo.org/ in Jefferson City and Serve, Inc. Fulton www.serveinc.net/. These agencies have determined need in their areas and will properly screen and distribute the fans.
