I was born and raised in St. Louis but spent a good majority of my life here in Mid-MO. I come from a long line of Mizzou grads, so many of my weekends were spent going to MU football and basketball games with my family. My dad and I are also HUGE county fair and tractor pull fans, so we try to go to as many as we can each summer.
Growing up, I watched my local meteorologist every day before school. I'm a huge planner, so I liked starting my day knowing if after-school events would be cancelled, what I needed to wear that day, etc. I remember checking the temperature and heat index throughout the school day, hoping it would be warm enough that outdoor softball practice would be cancelled (Sorry, Coach!). Studying atmospheric science at Mizzou was one of the best decisions I ever made. That along with four years of interning at KOMU 8 really deepened my passion not only for weather but for people. Weather affects every person every single day, and I love the fact that I can help people plan their day and keep them safe.
I'm so happy to be a part of the KOMU 8 family and the Live Doppler 8 First Alert Weather Team! I get to work with two great forecasters and even better friends. Kenton, Tim and I promise to work together to bring you accurate and up-to-date forecasts throughout the day and keep you and your family safe.
When I'm not at the station, you can probably find me rehearsing for a musical somewhere in Mid-MO. I love music and theater and have been in at least a couple shows every year since I was 10.
