Attorney General Josh Hawley investigating Uber data breach

JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley sent a letter to Uber on Wednesday demanding the rideshare take immediate action to notify all affected consumers following a data breach.
Hawley also asked Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi to protect consumers' personal information and prevent future breaches. Hawley said his office will investigate the Uber data breach and whether Uber’s ensuing conduct violated Missouri consumer-protection and data-privacy laws.
Jury in deadly crash trial to be selected in Clay County

COLUMBIA - A Boone County judge approved a change of venue request for a man accused in a deadly October bus crash.
Brandon Brill, 26, is charged with second-degree murder for allegedly causing the crash which killed Harrisburg teacher and coach Brian Simpson. At the time of the crash, Simpson was driving a school bus with the Harrisburg girls' cross country team.
Police arrest man for robberies from October

COLUMBIA - The Boone County Prosecutor's Office filed more charges Wednesday against a man arrested for two robberies in October.
Tony Davis, 51, now faces two counts of robbery and one count each of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon for the robberies.
Thanksgiving travel to be highest since 2005

According to a report by AAA, it is predicted that 50.9 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving.
Three car crash briefly shuts down Range Line

COLUMBIA - A three-car crash temporarily shut down one of the northbound lanes of Range Line St. around 6:00 Tuesday night. One of the drivers involved said a truck failed to slow down as the cars in front of it turned into the Moser's grocery store parking lot.
Richard Amoler, who was driving one of the cars in the crash, said he was supposed to head to Colorado Springs tomorrow to visit his mother.
Boone County sees first effects of failed use tax

COLUMBIA - Boone County Auditor June Pitchford presented the commission with her proposed 2018 budget Tuesday afternoon.
The commissioners have less money to spend than they had previously hoped. The budget proposal listed the failed use tax increase from the Nov. 7 election as one of the factors affecting the budget.
Nucor announces new steel mill in Sedalia

SEDALIA - Steel giant Nucor announced Tuesday it would build a new facility in Sedalia, bringing 250 new jobs and a $250 million investment to the city.
Rusty Kahrs, President of Economic Development Sedalia Pettis County's Board of Directors said in a press release, "This new facility will be transformative for our community, region and state. With a rich culture that values hard work and putting employees first, Nucor's new facility will be a great fit for our community."
Investigator sees increase in missing purebred dogs

FULTON - Callaway County Humane Society Investigator Sandy Corbet said she's had an increase in phone calls related to missing dogs.
She said German shepherds and pit bulls have been targeted over the last few weeks.
Man hospitalized after crash on MO 179

JEFFERSON CITY - A man was hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash at MO 179 and Missouri Boulevard.
Police said Jonathan Couture, 29, was riding a motorcycle down MO 179 and did not stop for a red light.
Hawley announces settlement fund for fraud victims

JEFFERSON CITY - Attorney General Josh Hawley announced a settlement fund for ten Missouri fraud victims.
The settlement carries $643,703.60 for victims of Timothy Mundy.
