Driver loses control, car goes through outlet clothing store

OSAGE BEACH - A car drove through a clothing store at a popular shopping outlet on Sunday.
88-year-old Freida Alexander lost control of her car in the parking lot of the Osage Beach Outlet Marketplace, according to a news release. The vehicle went across the lot, over a curb and through the front wall of a Gymboree Outlet. The car continued skidding across inside until it stopped against the back wall of the store.
High gas prices won't stop avid boaters from visiting the lake

LAKE OF THE OZARKS - In the midst of high gas prices on Memorial Day weekend some boaters have decided to stick with their fun hobbies.
Gas prices have been on a steady increase in Missouri since the beginning of the year. Average prices were at $2.17 in January and have risen to $2.71 in May.

Mizzou hires new softball head coach

COLUMBIA - After a disappointing season capitalized by missing the postseason SEC Tournament it was hosting, Missouri softball will have a new leader for the 2019 season.
The athletic department announced it named Larissa Anderson the 10th coach in program history on Saturday. Anderson served as head softball coach at Hofstra University for the past four seasons after serving 13 years at the school as an assistant and associate head coach.
A series of car break ins leaves one neighborhood searching for answers

COLUMBIA- The neighborhood of Ridgefield Road and Wood Hill Road are on high alert after a series of break in's on Friday morning. Spirit Stevens, an officer at the Columbia Police Department, is assigned to the case.
"We had several car break in's and one attempted burglary, but no entry was made or damage, " said Stevens.
Bicyclists celebrate 10th annual "Pedaler's Jamboree"

BOONVILLE - Hundreds of cyclists were traveling from Columbia to Boonville for the 10th annual Pedaler's Jamboree.
The event started in Flat Branch Park in Columbia, where cyclists inflated their tires and adjusted their helmets before they began the 30 mile ride to Boonville's Kemper Park.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol cancelled the Silver advisory around 8:30.
30th annual Salute to Veterans Airshow honors fallen and active military

COLUMBIA - Thousands of people withstood the heat Saturday to support the U.S. armed forces and honor veterans at the 30th annual Memorial Day weekend air show.
Betty Chevalier, a senior airman in the U.S. Air Force, described it as seeing the past, present and future all together as she watched both veterans interact with actives and actives meet children.
North and South Korean leaders hold surprise meeting

(CNN) -- The leaders of North and South Korea met Saturday for a second time, South Korea's presidency announced.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon Jae-in held a surprise meeting at the Demilitarized Zone, the South Korean presidency said in a statement.
Irish abortion referendum: Counting starts as exit polls show landslide in favor

(CNN) -- The counting of votes was underway Saturday following Ireland's referendum to lift the constitutional ban on abortion after exit polls pointed to an emphatic "Yes".
A poll released by Ireland's national broadcaster RTE shortly after polling stations closed Friday night predicted that nearly 70% voted in in favor of repealing a 35-year-old amendment to Ireland's constitution that placed the rights of mother and embryo on the same footing.
