Michael Porter Jr. out again for Mizzou basketballPosted on 16 November 2017 at 3:19pm
COLUMBIA - Mizzou basketball will once again be playing without prize recruit Michael Porter Jr. Thursday night.
The 6'10" freshman has only been on the court a total of two minutes this season.
“Obviously, Michael was expected to have a great impact on this team, as the top recruit in the country, and everyone is hoping he will be able to play soon," said KOMU 8 Sports anchor Chris Gervino.
Porter was pulled early in the season opener after he told coach Cuonzo Martin his leg didn't feel right. He had ice on his hip during that game.
In the Tigers' second game against Wagner, Porter didn't play and wasn't even on the bench.
He did not travel with the team for Thursday's game against the Utes.
"Mizzou will have a big test tonight on the road against Utah from the Pac 12 conference,” Gervino said.
Porter's status will be reevaluated, and no further details will be given until next week.
"To the Tigers credit, the team has won its first two games handily," Gervino said.
