JEFFERSON CITY - A fire destroyed merchandise and damaged sections of the Orscheln Farm and Home store Friday evening. Everyone inside was able to get out safely.
Firefighters said, when they arrived, they saw fire coming out of the storefront and heavy smoke inside. They had the fire under control in less than ten minutes.
The Jefferson City Fire Department said the fire appeared to start on one of the building's exterior walls, where there was a large package of combustible sawdust.
The exact cause of the fire hasn't been determined.
