COLUMBIA - Missouri's Jontay Porter received the SEC Freshman of the Week honor on Monday, following victories over Vanderbilt and Arkansas last week.
Porter had a career night versus Vanderbilt on Tuesday, recording a season-high of both points and assists, with 24 and six, respectively.
Porter followed up his Tuesday performance by tying Jordan Barnett for the team-high of 19 points versus Arkansas on Saturday. Additionally, he tallied two steals, four assists and grabbed eight total rebounds.
Porter and the fifth-seeded Missouri Tigers will face off against either Vanderbilt or Georgia on Thursday in the SEC Tournament. Missouri will play on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
