FRANKLIN COUNTY - Aubrey Nothum of Washington, Missouri was killed in a car accident Friday morning by a 13-year-old driver.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash happened at 12:04 a.m. when 13-year-old Kymberlie Vandenbossche was driving northbound on MO-100. Vandenbossche was driving above the speed limit when she failed to yield to an emergency vehicle. Nothum was sitting at a stop light, waiting to turn onto MO-47 from MO-100, when Vandenbossche lost control of the car and struck the left side of Nothum's car.
Nothum was taken to Mercy Washington Hospital by ambulance where she was pronounced dead at 2:54 a.m.
Vandenbossche was driving with an 11-year-old relative, Brandon Vandenbossche, at the time of the accident.
Kymberlie and Brandon Vandenbossche received moderate injuries.
Nothum was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
