17-year-old male wanted by Jefferson City Police after shooting
JEFFERSON CITY – Two out of three suspects were arrested and detained after a Sunday night shooting in Jefferson City; another was still wanted for assault.
Dakota Foster, a 17-year-old male from Auxvasse, was wanted by the Jefferson City Police and was believed to be armed and dangerous.
Investigators said a drug deal involving marijuana-laced cookies was the cause of the shooting on Sunday.
Jefferson City Police responded to a call of shots being fired on the 300 block of Mesa Avenue Sunday night.
A witness claims to have seen suspects chasing the victim’s car and stopping briefly in the 300 block of Mesa. The suspects and the victim fled their cars to a wooded area, where the victim was shot at twice, police said.
Alex Walker of Callaway County and a 13-year old female were arrested on possible charges of assault and possession with intent to distribute.
Foster turned himself in Tuesday evening.
