COLUMBIA - A 200-acre controlled burn sent smoke into the Columbia sky Monday afternoon.
Columbia Fire Department Captain John Metz said the fire is not dangerous, and is indeed a controlled burn. The fire is being monitored in Eagle Bluff Conservation Area near Scott Boulevard.
The visible smoke caught the attention of many in the area, but firefighters want to assure people the fire is under control.
