3 charged in fatal shooting in southeast Missouri
CARUTHERSVILLE (AP) - Three men are charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of a southeast Missouri man.
The Sikeston Standard Democrat reported the three suspects will be arraigned Thursday in the Sunday death of 20-year-old Cedriceon Stewart of Hayti Heights.
The suspects are 25-year-old Samuel Carnell Jones of Columbia; 29-year-old Arthur Liddell, and 18-year-old Demario Mitchell, both of Hayti. They also are charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.
Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell said Stewart was shot as four people exchanged gunfire, damaging several vehicles and two apartments.
Mitchell was taken into custody in Hayti. The other two suspects were arrested Sunday night after a two-hour standoff in Kennett.
Online records do not show the men have attorneys.
