ST. LOUIS (AP) — Three men are injured after gunfire erupted during a candlelight vigil in St. Louis to remember an 18-year-old fatally shot by police.

The shooting happened Saturday night during a vigil for VonDerrit Myers Jr. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that just 10 minutes into the vigil, gunfire broke out. Three men in their 20s were shot.

Police say all three of the injuries are minor.

Myers, who was black, was fatally shot by an off-duty white police officer in October 2014, just weeks after the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. Police say Myers fired at the officer first, but Myers' family has disputed that claim and filed a wrongful death lawsuit in January.
