COLUMBIA - The 5-K for Rainbow House and the Tiger 5-K Family Fun Run are among four races coming to Columbia this weekend. One special run is raising money for abused and neglected children.

It's the Coyote Christian Children's Home. For nearly 20 years, the facility in Harrisburg has been home to abused and neglected children. This is the second year for the run. Runners and walkers are welcome.

The run happens Saturday. Registration begins at 8a.m. and the race begins at 9a.m.

Another race is coming to Columbia this weekend. Forum Church will host a race for the Shoeman Water Projects, which collects used shoes from all over the world and sells them to a wholesale buyer.

The shoes then find a second life in South America, Africa, South Asia, and other developing nations to help prevent deadly diseases that contact bare feet. Money raised goes toward water purification systems to dig water wells in poor areas all over the world and bring clean drinking water to those in need.
