6 injured in school bus crash in Callaway County
COLUMBIA - A school bus crash in Callaway County injured six on Monday morning, according to police.
Police say the bus hit a raised part of the road when driving over a "low water crossing," according to the crash report filed by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Thomas C. Fox, of Fulton, was driving at the time.
The bus was heading east on County Road 406 at the time of the crash, less than a mile west of County Road 425. No other vehicles were involved.
Some riders near the back of the bus to flew out of their seats, hitting the roof of the bus, according to the report.
Five of the six injured in the crash were between the ages of 14 and 17. A 65-year-old woman was also injured.
Five people were hospitalized after the incident, but none were reported as seriously hurt.
