A New Plan To Build A Roundabout on Route Z Saves County Money
COLUMBIA- A new plan to improve traffic safety on Route Z will save Boone County one million dollars this year. The project, which includes funding from Boone County and Mo-Dot will implement a roundabout at the intersection of St. Charles Road and Route Z. It will also expand the route to three lanes.
This roundabout will eliminate the original plan to build a bypass at the intersection. The plan will give students a safe traveling option once Battle High School opens next year. The project is estimated to cost a total of $2.5 million and is expected to open next summer.
