Accused Drunken Driver Pleads Not Guilty to Murder
JEFFERSON CITY (AP) - A Missouri man accused of killing a woman in a wrong-way drunken driving accident has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge.
Twenty-nine-year-old Dennis Leporin of Columbia entered the plea Wednesday in Cole County Court. Besides the murder count, Leporin also is charged with assault, drunken driving persistent offender and driving while revoked.
The Lake Sun Leader reports that Leporin is accused of causing an accident in March that killed 19-year-old Chelsea Frederickson of Camdenton.
Prosecutors say Leporin was driving the wrong way on Missouri 54 south of Jefferson City when he hit Fredrickson's vehicle.
