Accused Montgomery Co., KC killer attempts suicide in jail
MONTGOMERY CITY - Mongtomery County Sheriff Robert Davis said the man accused of killing four people in Kansas City, Kansas Monday and another person in Montogmery County Tuesday, attempted suicide in the county jail Thursday morning.
Sheriff Davis said Pablo Serrano-Vitorino attempted to cut himself with a safety razor Thursday after he was removed from suicide watch Wednesday afternoon.
Serrano-Vitorino was reportedly taken to the hospital for treatment, but the sheriff's office would not say what hospital. University Hospital in Columbia confirmed there was no patient by that name admitted as of early Thursday afternoon.
Also Thursday, Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster announced he would be assisting Montgomery County prosecutors in the investigation into the killings.
