KANSAS CITY - With just under a month until the 2015 Major League Baseball All-Star Game rosters are finalized, the Kansas City Royals dominate the American League starting lineup according to Monday's update by MLB.

Seven of the AL's nine starting positions that are eligible for fan voting (starting pitcher is determined by the manager) are Kansas City players. The Royals manager Ned Yost will be the skipper for the AL, as Kansas City won the American League pennant last season.

Catcher Salvador Perez leads all vote-getters with 4,419,620 votes. Three other Royals follow Perez: outfielder Lorenzo Cain (4,211,472 votes), third baseman Mike Moustakas (4,046,726 votes) and shortstop Alcides Escobar (3,928,985 votes).

First baseman Eric Hosmer moved into a starting position, passing Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera. Outfielder Alex Gordon and designated hitter Kendrys Morales round out the seven Royals projected to start.

The only two positions that are currently not Kansas City players are one of the outfield spots, which is filled by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim outfielder Mike Trout, and second base where Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros leads.

The final day of voting for the 2015 MLB All-Star Game in Cincinnati is Thursday, July 2 at 10:59 p.m. CDT.
