COLUMBIA -- Missouri's Alex Oriakhi was named SEC Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 18 points, 6.5 rebounds and three blocks in wins over South Carolina and LSU. This is the third weekly honor a Mizzou player has received from the Southeastern Conference. Teammates Laurence Bowers and Phil Pressey earned the title earlier this season.

Oriakhi recorded his 10th double-double of the season in the win against LSU. It's the most double-doubles for a Tiger since Linas Kleiza grabbed 10 in 2004-05. He finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and four blocked shots.

The senior forward opened the week a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the foul line vs. South Carolina. He scored 18 points against the Gamecocks and did not miss a shot in two meets vs. USC. Oriakhi hit 15-of-17 shots (.882) in wins against South Carolina and LSU.

Oriakhi is now in the Top 10 for blocked shots in a season at Mizzou. Oriakhi has 47, ninth all time.
