Amendment Adds $400 Million to Relief Efforts
WASHINGTON D.C. - Sen. Blunt's amendment to add $400 million to disaster relief aid passed Wednesday.
The Community Development Block Grant program will receive the money in order to aid with disaster relief efforts.
Blunt says this amendment will ensure Missourians receive the resources they need to rebuild.
"There is still a lot of work to be done, but this amendment is a critical step forward to make sure Joplin and the communities along the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers have the resources they need to rebuild," Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo. said.
Blunt says he believes that original number of roughly $6 billion for disaster assistance will be appropriated between now and the end of the year.
