Ameren and Westinghouse Hosting Summit on Nuclear Plants
COLUMBIA - To help create more certainty for Missouri's economic and energy futures, Ameren Missouri and Westinghouse Electric are hosting a summit to discuss the possibility of new nuclear plants around the state.
Spokespeople from the companies will be joined by Gov. Jay Nixon.
In addition, several members of the legislature, MU President Tim Wolf and Chancellor Brady Deaton will be attending.
The hope is to promote the next generation of nuclear reactors, which is a hot topic since last year's nuclear disaster in Japan.
