Another Suspect Arrested in Oakland Pool Shooting
COLUMBIA- The Boone County Sheriff's Department arrested a Columbia man for unlawful use of a weapon on June 5. Columbia Police say the man, Jury Alston, is connected with the shots fired incident at Oakland Pool in Columbia. Alston is the third suspect arrested in the Oakland Pool incident on May 28. Alston turned himself in to the Boone County Jail on June 5 after a warrant for his arrest was established on June 1.
During the investigation of the incident, witnesses identified Cedric Barnum, Jury Alston and Demetriss Walker as being involved in the disturbance.
Walker was arrested June 1 after stealing from a Fulton Walmart and fleeing the scene. Columbia Police later informed Fulton Police that there was a warrant out for Walker's arrest for discharging/shooting a firearm at or from a motor vehicle/shooting at a person, motor vehicle or building/habitable structure.
Columbia Police arrested Barnum May 30 after he turned himself in. Prosecutors charged Barnum with armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon because of the incident.
