Area Organizations Feed Children One Program at a Time
MEXICO - As summer school comes to an end so do the districts free lunch program for all community children. This program has been providing breakfast and lunch to school age children during the summer school session.
The school feeds 400 students at breakfast and 800 students at lunch. Since summer school ends Friday, the local YMCA will pick up the responsiblity and begin it's own meal program for children ages 3-18.
The program begins July 5th and runs until school begins, August 17th.
The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri also hosts its own meal program called Summer Food For Kids.
