Armed Robbery Reported Early Sunday Morning
COLUMBIA - The Boone County Sheriff's Department responded to an armed robbery early Sunday morning.
Deputies with the Boone County Sheriff's Department responded to the 700 block of Demaret Drive at 12:30 a.m. Sunday after reports of a robbery.
Officials said a male and female victim reported being robbed at gunpoint by three black males as they were exiting their car.
The suspects took an unknown amount of money from the victims.
Authorities said one suspect assaulted the male victim, but he was not injured.
The suspects were described as black males wearing dark-colored jeans, dark-colored hooded sweatshirts and having black bandanas tied around their faces.
Deputies said the suspects were last seen running from the area.
This is not the first time Demaret Drive has had deputies respond for crime.
Authorities also responded to a report of shots being fired into a house in the 700 block of Demaret Drive on Thursday around 9 p.m.
A mother and her three children were in the house at the time but were not injured.
Investigators found evidence that confirmed shots were fired from the street in the direction of the home.
