Ashland Powers Up
Ameren said the new plant can serve a community four times the size of Ashland, so the town has plenty of power to spare. Ameren also said the plant will make service more reliable for homes and businesses.
"Within probably a shorter than longer amount of years, Ashland will continue to draw increasing power demands," said Mayor Mike Asmus. "So, this is a step in the right direction. This is a good investment for the company."
The $2.2 million plant also provides power for Hartsburg.
