Athletes Brave High Heat for Show-Me State Games
COLUMBIA - Athletes from all around Missouri didn't let Friday's heat deter them from playing the games they love. Temperatures flirted with 100 degrees for the better portion of the day prompting athletes to hydrate often. Executive director Ken Ash said some games are expected to be shortened and halftimes extended to compensate for the high temperatures. About 10-12,000 athletes are expected to take part in this years Show-Me State Games. The games kicked off with tennis, baseball, basketball, shooting and soccer on Friday. Saturday features more games with events wrapping up on Sunday.
