Atkison Sets School Record at Washington Invitational

ST. LOUIS - Central Methodist's Stephanie Atkinson vaulted within five centimeters of her school record Friday, highlighting the first day of competition for the Eagles at the Washington (Mo.) Invitational.

The Eagles' women's team is 18th overall after day one with four points.

Atkinson tied for 10th overall in the women's pole vault. She cleared 3.15 meters.

Central Methodist's Briana Greer placed 16th in the discus throw with a toss of 34.51 meters. Elise Schreiber came in 17th in the 1,000 meters in 39:43.49. Emily Nealley finished 18th in the 5,000 meters in a time of 18:37.20.

On the men's side, Derek Musgrove finished 17th in the triple jump with a mark of 11.74 meters. Colby Lapresi placed 22nd in the 1,000 meters in 33:03.72.
