Attorney General Unveils Web Site with Foreclosure Information
JEFFERSON CITY - Missouri Attorney General Chris Koster said Monday his office now has a special web site to help guide Missourians through the foreclosure process. Koster said he updated the website in response to constituents' concerns about the lack of clarity in the process. Koster also announced his office is taking part in a nationwide investigation into unfair foreclosure practices.
"Consumers were rightfully asking, 'What the heck is going on,'" said Koster. "And so, we are putting together a list of information that every consumer who finds themselves in this situation should have."
The site guides residents through what documents they should attain and their legal rights. Koster spoke from his office in Jefferson City. This was one of three news conferences on the topic across the state Monday.
