CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) - An audit of the St. Louis County Children's Service Fund is raising new questions about the operation of the fund.

The internal audit released Monday suggests conflicts of interest among staff and board members, calls into questions several of the fund's contracts for either spending too much or spending without approval, cites improper use of purchasing cards and cites a lack of control of day-to-day operation.

The Children's Service Fund provides grant money to agencies that help children 19 and under. It is funded by a quarter-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2008.

Kate Tansey was head of the Children's Service Fund until she was let go in October amid an FBI investigation.
