Authorities find missing woman's body
MONITEAU COUNTY- Cooper County Sheriff's Office announced on their Facebook page Sarah Nicholls' body was found Saturday evening. She was found dead in Moniteau County downstream from her campsite.
Authorities from the Cooper County Sheriff's Office began searching for the 31-year-old's body on Saturday afternoon.
Cooper County Sheriff's Captain Josh Rice said she went missing after an overnight camping trip Thursday. He said authorities learned she was missing Friday morning, and he believed she was swept away by a flash flood.
The search was being conducted near Moniteau Creek in the southeastern part of the county, according to the sheriff's office Facebook page.
Cooper County Sheriff's deputies were assisted by the Missouri Highway State Patrol and three other local fire agencies.
