Authorities investigate Moberly house explosion, fire
MOBERLY - Authorities are investigating a possible explosion that led to a structure fire in Moberly Sunday night.
The Moberly Fire Department was dispatched to the 500 block of Patton St. around 9:30 p.m. for a possible explosion and structure fire. When they arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from a home.
Fire crews managed to contain the fire to a first floor bedroom by 9:50 p.m., and just before 10 p.m., they tweeted out an image from the scene:

Authorities said in a press release that there were no smoke detectors in the building, but no one was home at the time.
The investigation is ongoing.
