Blair Oaks Starts Season of Firsts
Ready for a new season, and ready for a new coach.
"These kids work very hard. They've got a great work ethic," said Brad Drehle Blair Oaks football coach, "Great competitors. They compete with each other very hard and that's been refreshing to see."
The Falcons celebrated the new season with a welcome home party their first ever home football game.
A place to call home after nearly 40 years the Falcons are playing in a new stadium.
"When I think about those guys who didn't get to play who missed it by a year or two years or 30 years. I feel privileged to be able to play here." said Tyler Lueckenhoff Blair Oak senior.
"You know, I think everybody's just so giddy. Everyone just walks around with a smile. You see this place and smile that's about all anybody can say" said Drehle.
On Friday the Falcons christened the new stadium with a 28-0 shutout proving there's no place like home.
The new stadium cost about $2.5 million, including new field turf and seating for 2,200 fans.
