Board of Education Member Announces Resignation
COLUMBIA - Paul Cushing, Columbia Board of Education member, announced his resignation after nearly six months of service. A press release from Columbia Public Schools stated his resignation is effective October 1, 2012.
Cushing is required to leave Columbia after accepting a job in Minnesota. The press release stated he has called Columbia his home for 12 years, and he said that moving away will be quite difficult.
The district elected Cushing to the board in 2012, and he currently serves on the district's communication and finance committees.
The board will discuss the time line for selecting a new member later this month.
