Boat Registration Fees Rise
The state gets an estimated $2 million from boating registrations each year. The increased fees will raise that to about $2.6 million. Along with fixing old equipment, the money will also help pay patrol officers. Patrol numbers have declined as officers leave for higher-paying enforcement jobs.
Class A boats, no longer than 16 feet, will pay $25. Class 1 boats, more than 16 feet up to 25 feet, will pay $55. Class 2 boats, more than 25 up to 40 feet, will pay $100. Class 3 boats, longer than 40 feet, will pay $150.
