Body of Missing Golden City Child "Positively Identified"
GOLDEN CITY - The Missouri State Highway Patrol sent a press release Thursday night, which said the body it found Wednesday "has been positively identified" as 12-year-old Adriaunna Horton.
Law enforcement officers found the body in a wooded area in rural Dade County around 2 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Horton was last seen getting into a vehicle near Hazel Park in Golden City and was reported missing on Monday, August 19, around 5:30 p.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol, FBI, Barton County Sheriff's Department, officers with the Southwest Missouri Major Case Squad, several hundred volunteers and other law enforcement and fire agencies searched for the past three days, until the body was located.
There will be a news briefing at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Barton County Ambulance Service Headquarters.
