Boone, Cole and Callaway Counties Using Flyovers for New Maps
MID MISSOURI - Sanborn Map Company planes will start aerial photography Wednesday, March 23, to create updated maps of Cole, Boone and Callaway counties. Two to four aircraft will be used for the project and they're expected to finish in two days. However, in the event of inclement weather the flyovers will be rescheduled for March 28 or March 30.
Various points around the counties are maked with large aerial markers to help with the accuracy of the photos. Each marker is 12 by 12 feet and made of ripstop nylon and secured to the ground with stakes. Residents are asked to leave the markers in place as they will be removed once the flyovers are finished.
