Boone County Crash Kills Teen Driver
BOONE COUNTY - The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a Columbia teenager died early Sunday as the result of a one-car accident on Route Z north of St. Charles Road. The patrol reported that 19-year-old Kameron C. Gwin of Columbia died when the car he was driving left the road and hit a tree. The patrol said Gwin was not wearing a seat belt. An 18-year-old passenger in the car, Danielle N. Strickland of Columbia, received serious injuries.
The patrol reported two other serious accidents on New Year's Day. Just after midnight, a one-car accident on Manito Rd. in Moniteau County sent two people to the hospital with serious injuries. Both teen occupants, 19-year-old Taylor J. Peoples of Syracuse and the driver, 19-year-old Miguel A. Zaragoza of Sedalia, were injured when their car left the road and struck a concrete culvert. And around 3:40 a.m. Monday, another single-car accident seriously injured 22-year-old Travis Charles D. Polston of Mexico when his car drifted off Route FF east of Audrain Road 931 and overturned, throwing Polston from the vehicle.
