Boone County deputies arrest man in August shots fired incident
BOONE COUNTY - The Boone County Sheriff's Department said Thursday deputies arrested a man in connection with an August shots fired incident.
According to Major Tom Reddin, 21-year-old Jahme Taylor was arrested in Illinois Wednesday and transported by BCSD deputies back to Boone County. Deputies named Taylor as a suspect in an early August incident.
Reddin said deputies went to a home on Aug. 4 in the 5900 block of Teresa Drive just before 12:30 a.m. Reddin said deputies learned one family member had tried to shoot another.
In the probable cause statement, deputies said the 25-year-old victim told them he was in the kitchen cooking when Taylor came up behind him. The victim said he turned around and saw Taylor pointing a gun at his head. The victim said he moved his head away from the gun as Taylor pulled the trigger.
Deputies said the victim told them he wasn't hurt and ran away to a house nearby. Reddin said Taylor also ran away before deputies came to the scene.
Detective Tom O'Sullivan said Taylor faces potential charges of domestic assault and armed criminal action.
