Boone County Deputies Respond to Disturbance with Machete
BOONE COUNTY - Boone County Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a disturbance Sunday night involving a man swinging a machete.
According to a press release from the department, at about 9 p.m. deputies responded to the 1600 block of W. Old Plank Road where alleged suspect 34-year-old Dylan Lee Jones was reported to be swinging a machete in a threatening way. He had already fled the scene on foot by the time deputies arrived.
No injuries were reported but several victims reported feeling threatened. In addition to waving the machete and making verbal threats, witnesses said Jones also pushed a family member to the ground.
Deputies utilized a K-9 unit to locate Jones hiding in a wooded area nearby, and arrested him about an hour after the incident.
He was arrested for two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, 2nd degree assault, and 3rd degree domestic assault.
Jones is in custody at the Boone County Jail with a bond of $19,000.
