BOONE COUNTY - Boone County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a shots fired incident they said took place Monday morning just north of Columbia.

Deputies responded to the 5500 block of Rocky Fork Drive in the Clearview subdivision after reports of shots fired. Detective Tom O'Sullivan said the 46-year old victim was shot at while walking, but was not hit by the gunfire. Deputies found several shell casings at the scene. They said the victim believes a maroon colored car was involved in the shooting.

The victim was taken to the hospital to treat minor injuries.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact CrimeStoppers at (573) 875-TIPS. All calls are held in strict confidence and a reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

In July 2013, KOMU 8 News reported Boone County deputies responded to another shots fired incident at the same address. At that time, deputies said they had not discovered any evidence of shell casing at the scene.
