Boonville Jaycees Sell Christmas Trees to Support Community Programs
The Boonville Jaycees are selling Christmas trees all this weekend. The money raised this weekend will go to help school kids all year long.
Jennifer Boggs is at work getting her Christmas trees ready for sale in Boonville so eager customers can pick them out and set them up.
The Jaycees have been selling Christmas trees for more than 30 years and this year was no different. They ordered more than 120 trees this year. Each one of them goes to a good cause.
"We all love to get involved with our communities, all of the Jaycees," Jennifer Boggs said, "There's thousands of them in Missouri. 50 of us here in Boonville. We enjoy giving back because we feel that it's important.".
The money the Jaycees raise goes to community programs like the DARE Program in Boonville schools.
This is the first year Amber and her grandmother came here to buy their Christmas tree. They wanted to get it in their house as soon as they could.
Amber shares why she likes the tree that she picked out.
"Umm... It has a lot of spikes on it," Amber said.
They leave with the tree in their truck, and a warm heart knowing they've helped the Jaycees help the community.
