Boy, 15, to stand trial as adult in shooting death of girl
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A 15-year-old St. Louis boy is charged as an adult with involuntary manslaughter in the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old girl.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that Ja'Mare Stewart also is charged with armed criminal action in the Jan. 17 shooting of Jamyha Luss. Stewart was certified to stand trial as an adult on Tuesday.
Jamyha was at a friend's house when she was fatally shot in the back. Two boys who had been there fled before police arrived.
Jamyha was a student at Gateway Middle School and lived mostly with her grandmother because both parents are incarcerated.
