Boy on Bicycle Struck by Vehicle
COLUMBIA - A 12-year-old boy riding his bicycle was struck by a vehicle Friday in Moberly sustaining non-life-threatening injuries to his right wrist and hip.
Around 10 p.m. Friday, police responded to Moberly Regional Medical Center in reference to the boy who had been injured while riding his bike eastbound on Carpenter Street. The boy was riding with a female who was on a separate bike. Near Cleveland Avenue, a vehicle stopped at a stop sign and allowed the female to cross the intersection.
When the boy tried to cross the intersection, the vehicle failed to yield and struck the boy, knocking him off his bike and drove off.
The vehicle was described as a white, four-door, vehicle. The driver was described as a heavy-set, white male with a gray beard wearing glasses.
