Brandon Flowers Named AFC Player of the Week
KANSAS CITY - The National Football League informed the Chiefs on Wednesday that CB Brandon Flowers has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 28-0 win at Oakland. It is the first Player of the Week honor of Flowers' career and the second weekly accolade for the Chiefs in 2011.
Flowers intercepted two passes, including one he returned 58 yards for a touchdown in a 28-0 victory at Oakland. He added five tackles (three solo) and four passes defensed against the Raiders.
In six starts this season, Flowers has 34 tackles (24 solo), four interceptions for 95 yards and 11 passes defensed. His four INTs are tied for the AFC lead and tied for second in the NFL, while his 95 return yards rank fifth in the league.
