Bringing a Trailhead to Life
The new trailhead is part of a park which sits on Missouri State Capitol grounds. It will feature a Lewis and Clark Bicentennial Monument, a water feature and a Missouri bluff.
The trailhead has been in the planning stages for seven years and planners said much progress has been made in that time.
"I did not know it was going to be seven years. It has been most worthwhile and I just can't thank the people involved enough because they have given so much of their time," said project chairwoman Sally Sprague.
Eventually this trailhead will connect the trail to Columbia with a pedestrian bridge across the Missouri River.
