JEFFERSON CITY - A local business found opportunity for growth Wednesday after the Missouri House advanced legislation.
That legislation guarantees state workers the right to keep firearms in their vehicles on state property when on the job.
Doug Alley owns Ammo Alley in Boone County. He sells premium hunting and shooting products, and offers lessons at his on-site shooting range. Alley said he supports any legislation where people can further protect and defend themselves.
House Bill 533 states vehicles would have to be locked, with firearms kept out of sight. The legislation applies to state employees working for the legislative, executive, or judicial branches.
House members gave the bill first-round approval Tuesday. It needs another affirmative vote to move to the Senate.
