COLUMBIA - Sources tell KOMU that University of California Head Football Coach Sonny Dykes interviewed with Missouri Athletic Director Mack Rhoades in Denver today.

Dykes is 13-23 in three years as head coach at Cal, but has gone from one win to five wins to seven wins in those three seasons. Dykes previously coached at Louisiana Tech, where he went 22-15 in three years, including two winning seasons. The Bulldogs won the Western Athletic Conference championship in 2011, and Dykes won conference coach of the year honors.

Dykes is also a former offensive coordinator at Texas Tech and Arizona, and is the son of former Texas Tech head coach Spike Dykes. Rhoades also interviewed Dykes for the Houston head coaching job when Rhoades worked for the Cougars. Missouri Football Head Coach Gary Pinkel resigned due to health-related concerns after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in May.
