FAYETTE, MO -- Caleb Shaw, a six-foot two-inch guard, has signed to play with the Central Methodist men's basketball team for the 2012-13 season, head coach Jeff Sherman announced Tuesday.
"We are very pleased to have Caleb joining our Runnin' Eagle family," Sherman noted. "He is a very talented shooting guard with outstanding range. He works very hard and is a dedicated individual that strives for excellence in everything he does. He is going to be an excellent person to begin building our program around."
A transfer from Lincoln University, Shaw was a prep standout at Eugene High School in Eugene, Mo. During his high school career, Shaw was named All-Conference and All-District as a junior and senior. He was also named to the Class III All-State team his senior season.
"We went into this spring recruiting period with a couple of goals, one of them being to secure very good shooting guards that will boost our outside scoring threat immediately next season," Sherman said. "We feel Nathan Jackson and now Caleb Shaw are perfect fits. With 10 players returning, which includes all five starters, we feel we have already improved our team for next season."
